“Young Metro” marks the second cut of the first installment of Future and Metro Boomin’s WE DON’T TRUST YOU duology. The song’s title is based on Metro’s producer tag.
The song’s eerie and uncanny production sees heavy use of drums, bass, and Fargo pianos forming the beat alongside The Weeknd’s mysterious background vocals throughout the track.
The track’s subject matter is similar to the “average” Future song as he raps about drugs, women, and money throughout the track while making references to Evel Knievel, Adidas, and his record label Freebandz throughout the track.
The song’s music video and a brief snippet were originally previewed in a clip as promotion for the album just a day before its release.
